Social Action
Community involvement and support of Israel are key to the heart of Beth Shalom. This committee implements them through volunteer opportunities such as Yad Ezra food deliveries, housing South Oakland Shelter clients at the synagogue, and more.

USY (United Synagogue Youth/Kadima)
USY is a congregation-based group and a part of the Conservative youth movement. CBS’ chapter is part of the Central Region of USY (CRUSY). The main goal of USY is to bring about a meaningful experience of Judaism, the Jewish people, and the Synagogue, while involving the teen experience. We promote social activities, community service opportunities, Israel awareness, and religious experiences. Regional and international conventions are also offered.
