The Gan Shalom Parenting Center and Preschool provides a warm, friendly, and nurturing environment for young children through family programs, music, crafts, parent-tot classes, unique curricula, and more. A wide variety of engaging activities invites children, parents and grandparents into the Beth Shalom family to celebrate together the joy of being Jewish.

The Parenting Center welcomes families with little ones from newborn to 3 years with events that bring Dora the Explorer, Shrek, and Bob the Builder to our holiday celebrations. Classes such as Music and Movement, Brunch Bunch, and Parent-Tot Shabbat fill learning opportunities with fun. There are always new ideas, too, like “The Greatest Baby Shower on Earth.” It’s a unique event that informs expectant families about infant safety and Jewish rituals as well as contributing to the community.

The Gan Shalom Preschool, for children 24 months to 5 years, celebrates each child and supports their growth through a unique bilingual Hebrew-English curriculum that has become a model for other programs around the country. We also teach Zoophonics (reading readiness), Chicago (hands-on) math, creative art and science exploration, Israeli dance and music, and Computer Tots. Our teachers are loving, warm, and professional. The ratio of teacher to child is 1-4.

The Gan Shalom Preschool is held Monday through Friday, with morning, afternoon, and full-day programs available. Extended and early care are offered from 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM. A Kindergarten enrichment program will begin in Fall 2008. Gan Shalom Winter Camp and Summer Camp keep the fun and learning going during school breaks.
