At Beth Shalom, we get great joy in watching our young members connect to their religion and culture at our Center for Jewish Learning.  The journey for our young students to achieve a closer relationship with God and our tradition is vitally important and greatly emphasized through our innovative new religious school curriculum.  As a congregation and as a community, we strive to provide moments and opportunities for our children to discover their own incredible joy of being Jewish.

The theme for this school year is Israel at 60! Activities will include:

1. School to school - 4th grade will be paired with a school in Nazareth ilit and will create some wonderful programs to connect between Jews in Israel and the Diaspora

2. 5th and 6th graders will create a wall made of tile and glass with our artist-in- residence dedicated to Israel’s 60th birthday.

3. School curricula will focus on geography, history, Modern Hebrew and Israeli culture. Each grade will enjoy music, art and cooking to deepen their experience of Israel.

4. Middle school and high school on Monday night will create a movie with Rabbi Wolpe and also have the choice of many interesting and stimulating classes such as teen talk, law and order- Jewish court and more.

We welcome you to join us and learn with us.
