Yachad is a Religious School of both Conservative and Reform Jews in the Metro Detroit area. We draw families from Huntington Woods, Oak Park, Berkley, Southfield, West Bloomfield, Birmingham, and Madison Heights.
-
We believe in the right of every child to have an education and learn about their Jewish heritage. Respecting the differences in traditions amongst our families, at Yachad, we welcome everyone with warmth and understand that together, we really are better.
Why choose Yachad Religious School?
-
Yachad means “together” and our school is a true reflection of our name. Together, students, teachers and families cooperate to ensure that this is a Religious School experience for today’s kids. Engaging and personal, relevant and relatable, Yachad is about how we can learn and experience Judaism in a way that is meaningful and enjoyable.
-
Along with core subjects, Yachad students also have a choice of electives. These offer both fun and deeper learning opportunities so they themselves understand the value of the time they spend at Yachad. By learning and creating community, we show how our understanding of our Jewish roots gives us the foundation for our future.
Education Vision Statement
-
Yachad learners of all ages are motivated and engaged by our clergy and educators to grow into confident and committed Jews through a progressive, innovative and diverse curriculum for all ages. With a love for Am Yisrael and Torah as our guide, our learners develop a deeper understanding of Jewish values, ethics and Tikkun Olam (social justice and repairing the world). We strive to be a community of learners, finding value in our teachings, willing to reflect upon and share our knowledge, as we participate in services and Jewish life. We aspire to look upon and see in each of us T’zelem Elohim (in God’s image).
